چکیده

Natural hazards threaten many archaeological sites in the world; therefore, susceptibility analysis is essential to reduce their impacts and support site fruition by visitors. In this paper, rockfall of western slope Cumae Mount Archaeological Site (Phlegraean Fields, Naples), already affected events, described as a management plan for conservation. Being first Greek settlement southern Italy, has great historical importance offers unique elements such Cumaean Sibyl’s Cave. The began with 3D modeling through digital terrestrial photogrammetry, which forms basis geomechanical analysis. Digital discontinuity measurements cluster provide data kinematic analysis, pointed out planar, wedge toppling failure potential. Subsequently, propagation-based was completed into GIS environment: it shows that most sector susceptible rockfall, including access course, segment Cumana Railroad its local station. work highlights need specific mitigation measures increase visitor safety efficacy filed-based reconstruction prone areas.

Geothermal Energy Release at the Solfatara of Pozzuoli (Phlegraean Fields): Phreatic and Phreatomagmatic Explosion Risk Implications

The H20, CO2 and H2S outputs at the Solfatara of Pozzuoli have been measured and a map of the exhaling areas has also been made. The energy released at the surface by the fluids has been estimated to be 1019 ergs/day. The presence of aquifers at Phlegraean Fields increases the phreatic and phreatomagmatic explosion risk. Our results suggest that even if an uprising magma may interact with water...

Interdisciplinary Workshop on ROCKFALL PROTECTION

ii Preface Compared to other landslide movements, rockfall is an extremely rapid process with long travel distances. When an event occurs, the ability of persons to take evasive actions is almost reduced to zero and the risk of injury or loss of life is high. Damages to buildings and infrastructures are likely as well. In many cases suitable protection measures are thus necessary. The workshop ...
